I enjoyed your thoughts, I am glad I was getting additional information about the great Jeremy Brett as I happened upon your site. I enjoyed your reviews and am looking forward to exploring the rest of your site.
I use Hoopla as a patron of the local library and thought you might find some additional Sherlock shows of interest. There is an animated “Sherlock Holmes in the 22nd Century” that ran for one season in 1998. It’s under mysteries and appears to be based on the original stories.
“The Private Life of Sherlock Holmes” is a movie featuring the writing and directing of Billy Wilder, made in 1970. Listed as a classic/comedy with a legendary name like Mr. Wilder you’d think I’d recall if I liked it or not. I just don’t know. I’ll have to watch it again and write it down to remember what I thought of it. It couldn’t have been more than 3 weeks ago when I viewed this film.
I am certain you will be shocked and amazed to know that “Sherlock Holmes and The Shadow Watchers” a 2014 Canadian production makes the Asylum production look and feel like Masterpiece Theater. It appears it began production in 2010 and is described as an authentic Conan-Doyle work since permission was received from the authors estate. I am at a complete loss as to how such an inaccurate description can be made with such heartfelt sincerity. On a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the most realistic depiction this story is at least a -5. I must admit I felt a horrified fascination and was unable to stop watching this movie … I wanted to stop, but I just had to see if it could truly get any worse than it already was.
Thanks for the coffee advice. I aspire to be a connoisseur of coffee blends. I think I’ll have my daughter amazon prime it for me. It sounds delicious.
